13 year old boys and girls start to reach about the same weight on average by the time their 13. As a lot of people already realize for the first several years of life girls and boys are basically the same size, girls then hit a spurt where they're on average a bit more mature and larger and then boys eventually (around this age) catch up, and eventually surpass the ladies.
- Average weight of a 13 year old boy is right about 100 pounds or 45.5 kilograms
- Average weight of a 13 year old girl is roughly 100 pounds or about 45.5 kilograms.
- Average height for a 13 year old boy: 61.5inches or 156 cms. 61.5 inches means 5 feet and 1.5 inches.
- Average height for a 13 year old girl: 62 inches or 157.5 centimeters. At age 13 the girls are slightly taller by about half an inch at 5 feet, 2 inches.
At 13 is the last time girls are on average larger than boys. This is also the age when both boys and girls normally break the five foot mark for the first time. There are of course big outliers on both ends of the spectrum, so keep in mind that the numbers above are just averages from the CDC (Center for Disease Control), a US government sponsored organization.
As you can see from the graphs below this is the age where there starts to be a wide spectrum. For both boys and girls in terms of height and weight. The numbers listed above are essentially averages but there's a whole normal spectrum making up these averages. It's also common knowledge that people physically mature at different rates, and it's not unbelievable for someone who's the shortest kid at 13 to be the tallest kid at 18. Living a healthy lifestyle is the best way to make sure that you reach your maximum potential in terms of a optimal body that you can enjoy for a very long time.
